My work in clay joins in the respect for the Japanese tradition of the chanoyu. It is the fruit of the numerous meetings with other " raku " potters, with my readings on the history of this particular technique as well as that of the fumigation, my life choice towards a return in the simplicity and a bigger complicity with the nature, a certain detachment of the material things…

My main sources of inspiration are documents presenting the work of masters Japanese " raku " potters, as well as the ceramic " shino " and " bizen ", the uncountable publications on the work of the clay : techniques of shaping, cookings, glazing…

 

My wooden work is more free. It tightens towards a pure esthetic research, a maximal tension of lines. I quite particularly like playing on strong contrasts of colors allied to effects of texturage, often obtained by burning.
